Pipe Volume Calculator
Calculate the water capacity inside a pipe using its inner diameter and length. View the volume in US gallons, liters, cubic feet, and cubic inches.
Enter the pipe's inner diameter and length. Choose the units that match your measurements; results update automatically.
Pipe Volume
Volume is calculated from the inner diameter and pipe length.
How to Use the Calculator
- Enter the pipe's inner diameter. Use an actual inside diameter measurement rather than the nominal pipe size.
- Enter the pipe length and select the correct unit for each measurement.
- Review the automatically updated volume in US gallons, liters, cubic feet, and cubic inches.
- Use Reset Calculator to restore the example values.
Assumptions and Limitations
This calculator treats the pipe as a straight cylinder with a constant inner diameter and assumes it is completely full. It calculates geometric capacity only, not flow rate, flow velocity, pressure, or the amount of water available in an operating system. Use the actual inner diameter; nominal pipe size and outside diameter are not interchangeable with inner diameter. Fittings, valves, branches, and other components are not included. Displayed results are rounded for readability.
