Mini-Split Calculator

Estimate preliminary room cooling demand, compare a known load, and check individual indoor-model compatibility against the GREE Multi GEN2 Revision E chart.

Room details

Uses 25 BTU/h per ft² as a baseline, then applies transparent planning adjustments for the selected conditions. This is a screening estimate, not a Manual J load calculation.

GREE Multi GEN2 Compatibility Check

Checks each indoor model against the published Multi GEN2 Revision E compatibility chart. This is an individual model check, not full system-combination or capacity validation.

Choose the models and run the check.

Calculation breakdown

Planning estimate only. This tool does not verify equipment sizing or indoor/outdoor model compatibility.

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Choose Room cooling estimate or Known BTU/h comparison.
  2. For room estimates, select area units and enter each room's area.
  3. In multi-room mode, add rooms to calculate a combined preliminary cooling estimate.
  4. For a known load, choose cooling or heating and optionally enter a unit's nominal capacity.

How It Works

The room estimate starts with 25 BTU/h per ft² and applies the selected adjustment factors for ceiling height, insulation, sun exposure, window area, and climate demand. For multiple rooms, the calculator estimates each room separately and adds the results. In Known BTU/h comparison mode, it compares a value you enter with an optional unit nominal capacity; it does not calculate the original load.

The GREE compatibility checker compares the selected indoor model with the selected outdoor unit against the published Multi GEN2 Revision E chart. It checks the listed individual model pairing only.

Assumptions and Limitations

  • The room cooling estimate starts with 25 BTU/h per ft² and applies the displayed planning multipliers for ceiling height, insulation, sun exposure, window area, and climate demand. These are heuristic adjustments, not an ACCA Manual J calculation.
  • The size shortlist rounds the estimate up to the next common nominal mini-split capacity. It is a starting point for comparison, not a verified equipment recommendation; actual selection depends on room load and manufacturer performance data.
  • Heating is not estimated from floor area. Use a heating load already determined by another reliable method.
  • Capacity comparison checks nominal numbers only. Actual cooling/heating output varies with outdoor temperature, operating conditions, and manufacturer performance data.
  • The GREE checker verifies individual indoor-model eligibility against the GREE Multi GEN2 Revision E chart only. It does not validate multi-indoor combinations, connected-capacity limits, piping limits, or system performance.
  • For final equipment selection, use an appropriate load calculation and the manufacturer's performance/combination data, or consult a qualified HVAC professional.
